Abhyudaya means Raising to Prosperity. This News letter of UPE-University with Potential for Excellence-Focus-Area II project of University of Mysore, Mysuru, India. This Quarterly news letter is an initiative to create awareness in the area of Media and Social Development by encouraging Project fellows to submit contributions in interdisciplinary areas of Social Sciences.

     The Contents of the Newsletter focuses on Human Development Indices and issues that contribute to the development of the country. It aims at throwing light on basic aspects of development like Health, Education & Economy in particular and related aspects like Life expectancy, Health expenditure, Death rate, Access to drinking water, Average Wage, Women empowerment, RTE, Unemployment, Demography, Inclusion etc., in general. The newsletter also compares Human Development Report of various states and throws light on different models of development.

     Journal of Media and Social Development is a quarterly research journal of the UPE – University with Potential for Excellence – Focus Area –II Project of the University of Mysore, Mysuru, India. This interdisciplinary journal addresses a range of development issues from Socio – Economic to Cultural and Demographic transition that is taking place around us. The journal is committed to research and education thus helping in creating a dialogue over a broad range of developmental issues.
